This week on Politinerds, Doug and I spend some time chatting with Dan Hill of Ervin Hill Strategy. Dan specializes in brand management and has done some lengthy analysis of Duke University’s curious decision to begin having a Muslim “call to prayer” broadcast from their chapel on Fridays. (A decision which was later pulled… sort of.) We talk about the intersection of higher education and politics and how this all went so wrong for Duke, as well as how other institutions might be able to avoid PR disasters like this in the future.
