Video - Mary Landrieu and "The Lurking"

When it comes to Senate Democrats on the endangered species list, about the only thing that Mary Landrieu (D-LA) has to be thankful for this season is that Mark Pryor is running at the same time. Amid sinking poll numbers and a voter base growing increasingly dismayed over the failed promises of the President’s health care law, things are looking pretty dismal. But strangely, in an interview with WAFB in New Orleans, Landrieu seemed to make the predictions of the DNC Chair come true by doubling down yet again.

Landrieu also responded to political attacks Wednesday on her support for Obamacare.

“The Affordable Care Act, as I said, the bill itself has got very good concepts and yes, I would support it again,” Landrieu said. “But, that doesn’t excuse the poor roll out of what should have happened. There should have not been a glitch in the software.”

Landrieu has sponsored a bill to allow Americans to keep their old policies. Insurance companies said they couldn’t offer policies at the same prices, though.

She’s clearly attempting to stick to the party line and pretend that the only problems with Obamacare are to be found in the crippled web site, but as the article notes, voters are already seeing the deeper problems and are not impressed. The Republicans aren’t letting up the pressure on Landrieu at all as we approach election year, and are even starting to have a bit of fun with it. Their latest ad, prepared for the voters of Louisiana, takes a decidedly over the top, swamp theme.
