A study by Lancaster researchers reveals that the busiest hour for internet use is now between 10pm and 11pm, driven by those watching streaming services such as Netflix, iPlayer and YouTube.

Evidence from nearly 400 devices shows a peak at this time – with viewers prolonging the “traditional” hours of TV watching.

As reported by MailOnline, the authors state: “To the extent that this traffic is associated with viewing films or programmes, it suggests that mobile devices are used to prolong hours of “TV watching”, perhaps after the main TV set has been turned off.”
