The embassy said Putin asked Trump to convey his gratitude for the CIA’s help and pledged that Russia would share information on possible U.S. terror attacks, if such information comes to light.

The Kremlin said the CIA’s information helped thwart a plan to bomb the Kazan Cathedral and other crowded sites.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders via Twitter confirmed the call and said a White House readout would be released later Sunday.
