Top Kelli Ward aides ditch campaign, claim she won’t "drain the swamp"

Dustin Stockton, Ward’s former chief strategist, and Jennifer Lawrence, who served as her press secretary, issued a statement late Tuesday afternoon “apologiz[ing] for propping up” Ward and her “blind ambition.” The two are a couple and they are both former Breitbart reporters. They are bashing Flake’s primary challenger on the eve of Ward’s campaign kickoff fundraiser, where Laura Ingraham and Breitbart chairman Steve Bannon are both set to appear. “When we walked into the campaign, we thought that Kelli was up to…drain the swamp, and after a while, we saw her bringing in people from the political consultant class,” Lawrence told The Daily Beast in a brief phone call on Tuesday.
