Kathy Griffin mocked her former CNN New Year’s Eve co-host Anderson Cooper in a recent interview, calling him a “spineless heiress.”

Griffin explained to the Daily Beast that the term applies to a quote “from my gays” about Cooper, who is gay and comes from the esteemed Vanderbilt dynasty.
