Q. If you run for president, how would you differentiate yourself from Jeb Bush? Aren’t you fighting for the same money and support?
A. “The second part of that question is not accurate. We certainly know a lot of the same people but I feel and know that I have a base of supporters financial and policy-wise that differ for Gov. Bush’s. … I think he’s going to be a very strong and credible candidate. But I think we can both mount campaigns that are credible and successful.
“As for as differentiating, ultimately that’s the choice the voters are going to make. I think it’s far too early to get into that, especially because I haven’t made that decision yet and, by the way, neither has he.
“I’ll just make this observation, though. I think it’s important for this country at this stage in our history to move towards the future. I’m grateful for the service people have given our government and our nation in the past, but I think the time has come for a new generation of leadership in this country.”
