HHS secretary: Al Sharpton "has spent his life fighting for what's right"

Was Sharpton fighting for what’s right when he stood by Leonard Jeffries, the City University of New York professor? Jefferies had declared, “That was a conspiracy, planned and plotted and programmed out of Hollywood, where people called Greenberg and Weisberg and Trigliani and what not — it’s not anti-Semitic to mention who developed Hollywood. Their names are there — MGM: Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer, Adolph Zukor, Fox. Russian Jewry had a particular control over the movies, and their financial partners, the mafia, put together a system of destruction for Black people.”

Sharpton, during the controversy over Jefferies, said, “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.”

Or maybe Burwell was thinking of the time when Sharpton helped instigate an anti-Semitic riot that resulted in the murder of a young Jewish rabbinical scholar? It was Sharpton who suggested talking “about how Oppenheimer in South Africa sends diamonds straight to Tel Aviv and deals with the diamond merchants right here in Crown Heights.”
