“I measure success by whether the audience enjoyed it,” Levin said. “We’re just trying to create entertainment here, so if people are happy and if they’re having fun with it, then I’d say it’s a success.”
In the meantime, Levin is working on other projects, including an action-thriller called Shadows of the Jungle, which he describes as Indiana Jones meets Cat People and Apocalypto.
Levin added that a Sharknado sequel has been in the works since long before the first film aired.
Although we know few details about a sequel — except that actress Tara Reid already wants to play a part when the script is ready — Twitter users have already played around with a possible name. Levin’s favorite suggestion? “SnailQuake,” he said. “But it could be slow moving.”
