But the thief was not smooth enough to reset the iPhone and start fresh. The thief instead decided to start using Nirenberg’s OKCupid app, and began “sending weird messages to girls at 6 on the morning.”

So Nirenberg came up with the perfect plan to ensnare the thief.
“I created a fake email and a half-believable OKCupid account as ‘Jennifer Rodriguez’ – a 24-year-old girl who just moved to Brooklyn and is looking for a man to take her out,” Nirenberg wrote. “I sent a message to the thief (my account) and chatted him up as Jennifer…weird.”
Nirenberg told the New York Post that to create “Jennifer,” he grabbed a Google Images photo of a woman “smiling into a webcam with a bit of exposed cleavage.”
The plan worked perfectly.
