Obama: These Republicans are so last century

President Barack Obama said Republicans had showcased “an agenda that was better suited for the last century’’ at their just-concluded national convention, as he kicked off a five-state campaign trip ahead of next week’s Democratic National Convention.

“It was a rerun,” Mr. Obama said Saturday to a crowd gathered on a farm here. “We’ve seen it before. You might as well have watched it on a black-and-white TV.”…

“He did not offer a single new idea,” Mr. Obama said of Mr. Romney’s nominating speech this week. The GOP candidate is simply repackaging “the same old policies that have been sticking it to the middle class,” he said.
