Debbie Wasserman-Schultz: I, er, don't have time to meet with Occupiers in Iowa

Asked in Des Moines if she would sit down and meet with Occupiers, Debbie Wasserman Schultz said on MSNBC, “I just got here at 1 o’clock in the morning. I mean really.”

Pressed on whether she would talk to the protesters if she got the chance, the Florida congresswoman responded, “I probably won’t have a chance to talk to them while I’m here but I have talked to Occupy Wall Street folks over the last few months, I’ve been publicly supportive of them. I think that they are well within their rights to be frustrated.”

The DNC chairwoman insisted that even though protesters have staged demonstrations and expressed frustration about Democrats in Des Moines this week — by protesting at a Democratic “war room” — they were “for the most part” riled up about the GOP candidates, and defended President Barack Obama’s support of the middle class.
