House passes bill limiting NLRB power over cases like Boeing's

The House of Representatives passed The Protecting Jobs From Government Interference Act, H.R. 2587, by a vote of 239 to 176, today, with all Republicans and six Democrats voting in favor of it. The bill would prohibit the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from ordering any employer to close, relocate or transfer employment under any circumstance.

The NLRB has been the target of Republican ire since the board filed a complaint against Boeing in April for opening a plant in South Carolina, a right-to-work state. The NLRB said Boeing was punishing workers in Washington state with the decision.
