Alec Baldwin: No, I’m not running for office

“Alec is, like many other Democrats, still hoping Tim Bishop will be declared the winner,” said Matthew Hiltzik, Baldwin’s spokesman. “Alec is interested in politics and public service but now is not the time.”

Although Baldwin lives in East Hampton, which is in Bishop’s congressional district, his primary career could interrupt his secondary one. He is signed onto 30 Rock through spring of 2012, and even though the show would likely not finish shooting in March of that year, Baldwin would only have a few months to raise money, and he is not interested in self-funding.
