Officials with Sanders’ office said that more students than ever before scored proficient on the Arkansas Teaching, Learning, and Assessment System (ATLAS) exam years after the LEARNS Act was signed.

Scores show that proficiency has risen by more than 20% since 2024 across all subjects and grade levels, Sanders said. The governor also mentioned that the number of students performing at the lowest levels decreased across all subjects by 17% since 2024.

If these Southern states, so sneered at by the elites in the blue states, can do this within just a few years of shaking up both expectations and tightening up teaching curriculum over ideology, what the heck is the excuse for states and cities that spend tens of thousands per pupil (for example, the Chicago public schools spend about $27,439 per student v Arkansas $12-14,000 per)?

Of course, that question was rhetorical.
