President Donald Trump’s effort to crack down on crime in Washington D.C. and Memphis, TN, has resulted in more than ten thousand arrests, according to internal data shared with the Daily Caller.
During the first year of his administration, Trump designated a cross-agency task force for each city to focus on public safety.
Since starting its effort in D.C. in August, the law enforcement officers and the National Guard conducted 7,526 criminal arrests and 2,469 administrative arrests, according to data shared with the Caller. In Memphis, TN, over the last three months, the task force effectuated 4,115 criminal arrests and 691 administrative arrests.
“President Trump’s bold actions in American cities this year have led to significant drops in crime by getting dangerous criminals and illegal weapons off the streets,” Abigail Jackson, a White House spokeswoman, told the Caller.
