Fox News host Harris Faulkner lit into corporate media for not covering a Wednesday press conference held by North Carolina Republicans in response to the stabbing of a Ukrainian refugee on a Charlotte light rail train.
Iryna Zarutska, who worked at an area pizza restaurant, was stabbed to death on Aug. 22 while returning home from work by DeCarlos Brown, a man with a lengthy criminal history. Fox News aired roughly 16 minutes and 34 seconds of the Republican press conference, with Faulkner cutting away as the Republicans stopped to pray for Zarutska and her family.
“As they observe that moment of silence, we want to also observe who’s not covering this, because that has been part of the story and it is a shame,” Faulkner said. “We started off with the opening comments of Jason Simmons, who is the chairman of the Republican Party statewide in North Carolina and he said I want to thank all for covering this.”
