A journalist who has studied the Zizian movement since a border agent was killed in Vermont in January says little is publicly known about the Alaska life of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) computer sciences graduate Jack LaSota - who prosecutors say is the cult’s leader currently being held in Maryland without bail on a series of charges, including trespassing.
“Very mysterious,” Andy Ngo, Senior Editor at The Post Millennial, a self-described conservative news outlet said of what he’s been able to discover about LaSota’s Alaska upbringing and history.
“It was very hard to find,” Ngo went onto say that included finding information about LaSota attending UAF.
While LaSota, has not been charged with murder, or being an accessory to murder, Ngo says LaSota’s gender identity and veganism blog entries made under the name Ziz — which the Associated Press reported started after the transgender woman moved from Alaska to the San Francisco Bay area — eventually radicalized her followers, who have now been charged in the killings of six people across the U.S.
