Pete Buttigieg is taking a serious look at seeking a Senate seat in Michigan after Sen. Gary Peters announced he wouldn’t run for another term, according to a person familiar with his thinking.

Buttigieg served as Transportation Secretary in President Joe Biden’s administration and was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, leaving him with one of the bigger national profiles in the party.

Buttigieg is exploring all of his options on how he can continue to serve, the person said.
