On Thursday, a NASCAR hauler delivered the first nine homes as part of a $12 million recovery effort that teamed skilled laborers with one of North Carolina's most famous home improvement companies to deliver the most needed commodity following Helene: temporary homes.

In total, Lowe's helped to purchase 100 units that will arrive for families before Christmas Eve, literally bringing them home for the holidays. The effort brings together a number of entities in a true neighbors-helping-neighbors fashion.
