2 Months Later, Utah Cops Confirm Shooting Tied to Tren De Aragua

A Herriman shooting in September is now being linked to the notorious gang, Tren de Aragua.

The Tren de Aragua gang from Venezuela — which has sparked concerns across the country and prompted the federal government to offer millions in reward money to capture its leaders — is now in Utah.

A top state investigator confirmed Tren de Aragua's presence in an exclusive KUTV interview on Friday, and just a couple of hours later, Herriman police acknowledged the gang's involvement in a September shooting and assault.

"Definitely based off some of the information coming from the investigation, there are those trends, tactics, and procedures that are consistent from that criminal organization," said Captain Tanner Jensen, director of the Statewide Information and Analysis Center.
