The state’s large population of white and blue-collar voters helped Trump narrowly defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016, a playbook he was able to replicate this cycle. And Harris’ struggles among Black men, union voters and Arab American voters in the state aided the former president’s comeback in the razor-thin race for Michigan’s 15 electoral votes.

As we ended the live blog last night, I warned that this could flip back into Harris' column. We'd only seen about a third of the vote from Detroit/Wayne County, and the margins were narrow all night for Trump. The NYT "dial" predicted a Trump win here, though, and they got it right.
This will have Democrats wondering even more about a political realignment, or at least it should. Fred Bauer will have more on that in a later headline in a warning to the GOP.
