The Israeli Knesset approved a bill on Monday that would ban the main U.N. agency that aids Palestinians, known as UNRWA, from operating in the country. It was not immediately clear how far the bill would be applied and when and whether it would be implemented as law.
Let's hope the Israelis are serious about it. The United Nations allowed UNRWA to get thoroughly infiltrated and corrupted by Hamas. If they cared about aid to civilians, the UN would have acted to prevent that. UNRWA has also been running schools that teach the vilest forms of anti-Semitism to children, also under the direction of Hamas. Ridding the region of UNRWA is a matter of survival for Israel, and likely the only path to a lasting peace.
