In an interview with Bloomberg, Trump heavily criticized the tech giant, saying it treats him “very badly.” Despite this, he stopped short of openly supporting a breakup.
“Google is rigged just like our government is rigged,” he said.
“What you can do without breaking it up is make sure it’s more fair,” Trump suggested.
Trump's concerned about China and the ability of American companies to compete. That's short-sighted, though, for two reasons. First, Google is a big part of the reason that companies can't compete effectively in this market. And second, Google uses its market power to flex political as well as economic muscle, generally to support censoring and sidelining Trump's allies.
