'Rust' Never Sleeps ... Unfortunately

Three years after the tragic on-set death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, Alec Baldwin’s indie Western Rust will finally be revealed to the public. The movie has been selected to make its world premiere in late November at Poland’s Camerimage International Film Festival, a respected specialty event focussing on achievements in cinematography. The festival said Thursday that it plans to hold a panel discussion after Rust‘s first screening to honor Hutchins’ memory. ...

According to an outside source with knowledge of the situation, Baldwin will not be present for the premiere, although he is both its star and lead producer, having once described the movie as a “passion project.”

Hard pass. Baldwin won't be there, and if prosecutors hadn't screwed up, he wouldn't have been anywhere else other than prison. Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed remains in prison after losing an appeal last week over the same issue that got Baldwin's case dismissed with prejudice. This film should have been shut down for good after Hutchin's homicide.
