Mexico 'Pauses' Diplomatic Relations With US

This week, those tensions exploded into the open.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico said on Tuesday that his government was “pausing” diplomatic relations with the United States in response to criticism by the U.S. ambassador over the final crusade of his six-year presidential term.

This is a strange position to take. AMLO isn't officially breaking diplomatic contact with the US; they still want trade to take place without interruption. AMLO apparently won't speak to Ambassador Ken Salazar, though, or his staff while Salazar keeps criticizing his judicial reforms.

Say, wasn't this administration supposed to be better at this than Trump's? This didn't happen during the Trump years, despite the tough diplomacy Trump employed about illegal immigration.
