Three Cheers for Legal Moonshine

Now, I get that people who want to sell it will still have to give a piece of the pie to Uncle Sam, but if I were to decide to produce liquor on my own and I just give it to people, that’s a different matter. I’m selling nothing.

It’s no different than home brewing. I’ve been gifted people’s homemade beer before and no one had to pay tax on anything.

Because it’s basically moonshine already and there’s no tax on it, we’re looking at legal moonshine.

And that tickles my whiskey-loving heart.

There may have been an argument about safety when it comes to distilling, as opposed to home brewing or wine-making, both legal now for many years. But it's not a very good argument, as it's essentially similar to pressure cookers. Legalizing the practice will allow access to safer methods and products, too. 

And frankly, safer output as well.
