For Our Independence Day: How to Catch Wild Pigs

I wrote a version of this one a long time ago, but that’s the odd thing about real common sense. It lasts a long time.

As does the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States and barbecued ribs on Independence Day, and while some have tried to tear these institutions down, many Americans love them still. We’re stubborn and just won’t budge. We love the 4th of July, even though we keep letting in tens of millions of illegal migrants–some of them violent and predatory–who don’t know what Independence Day means. And many don’t care to learn.

Which brings me to my favorite story of American independence.

Every Fourth of July we Americans celebrate our liberty and our independence from an oppressive, overreaching government.

We do this through wonderful, time-honored rituals.
