Toaquiza crossed the southern border illegally into Lukeville, Arizona, on June 19, 2023, Homeland Security sources told The Post.

While in Border Patrol custody, she shared that she feared returning to Ecuador because she was being threatened by a past romantic partner. She was quickly released with a future court date and said she was going to Chicago.
