The Shocking Reason Nick Searcy Fired His Agent

The two noted how Friends of Abe disbanded and no new group has taken its place. Klavan, who recalled how Hollywood blacklisted him when he shared his conservative views, asked how Searcy’s politics have impacted his career.

“The most egregious example of it for me is that basically I came to think that I was being blacklisted by my own agent,” the actor told Klavan.

The trouble started during the pandemic. The agent, who Searcy refers to as “Dan,” told him to get vaccinated or else he won’t get new gigs.

“It’s nobody’s business whether I get vaccinated or not. That shouldn’t even be a question that should be asked of somebody, and I’m not gonna answer that question,” Searcy said.

Yikes. Nick's a funny man and passionate with his beliefs. Agents have a priority duty to put their clients' interests ahead of their own, however, in every field where one person represents another. If an agent didn't want to work on Nick's behalf, the agent should have ended that relationship up front. Read the whole thing.
