These men we’re talking about here are not only undeniably three of the top 25 most accomplished Americans in history, but both Washington and Jefferson would merit being included on a list of the 100 most accomplished figures in WORLD HISTORY. These are great men who deserve to be treated as role models for all Americans – and yes, they did own slaves, but that’s just what the history of the world is like.

If prostitution was the oldest profession, slave master was probably the 2^nd oldest profession. That doesn’t mean slavery is a good thing, but there’s probably not a single soul alive from say 100 years ago or longer that didn’t do or believe all sorts of things we find abhorrent or ridiculous. A hundred years from now, we’ll be the ones whose beliefs people find vile and out-of-touch. That’s the nature of the world.

In any case, while liberals were demanding statues of people like George Washington, Ulysses S. Grant, and Thomas Jefferson be torn down, they were replacing them with a new “hero.”
