I believe the Modular Causeway Structure or MCS, is only rated for Sea State of 1 or 2, with limited use under Sea State 3 which is 7-10 KT winds and 2.5-3’ waves, seas which this area normally exceeds regularly. This is clearly documented in its standards and use guidelines https://t.co/zssiSYjkOZ

About That 'Floating Pier' POTATUS Had Built in Gaza...That's Floated to Israel
Beege Welborn
Technically it could be a piece that broke off the pier and floated ashore.

I’ll see if i find full confirmation if the whole pier collapsed or only a part of it broke off.
That’s how it looked before. pic.twitter.com/8L6WhUit5Z
I'd say this was hilarious, but really, I just want to cry.
This pretty much confirms it was a complete abortion from the get-go. From ships that couldn't get there, to snafus putting it together, to aid that came off of it that NONE OF IT EVER got to a single needy person because it was stolen, to now breaking apart in heavier seas.
Kind of an allegory for Biden's whole term, no?
UPDATE: They've figured out what part of the pier took a walkabout.
Update from @CENTCOM on the powered lighterage sector that is ashore.

High Seas and winds broke them loose from their moorings and sent them toward the shore, uncrewed.
This is the danger of conducting JLOTS ops in open water waters. This is not designed for > sea state 3. https://t.co/tiu1CCa02k
