America Doesn’t Need Momala Harris

ut the bizarre fantasies of the K-Hive notwithstanding, in 2020 voters could cast their ballots for Biden in relative confidence that he would spend the next four years doing the job; his remarkable agility in comparison to Trump was even the subject of a cheeky campaign ad. Today, though, the president is so diminished that at times it’s seemed he might not even make it to November, let alone through another grueling four years as the leader of the free world. He slurs and stumbles; he seems confused; he sees dead people, or at least, dead French presidents.

And his vice president? Let’s just say that her performance since 2021 is less Air Force One than “Veep, but real life.” Online, Harris is best known for specializing in hysterics and non sequiturs like “When we talk about the children of the community, they are a children of the community,” and “You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?” and “I love Venn diagrams.”

“Over the last many years, there’s been this kind of perverse approach to what strength looks like, which is to suggest that the measure of one’s strength is based on who you beat down,” Harris said to Barrymore last week. “The true measure of one’s strength is based on who you lift up.”

Might I just add that if you look to government to be your "momala" at all (or your "dadala" for that matter), then you have issues that you should work out in therapy rather than at the ballot box. Barrymore's weird kneeling to Dylan Mulvaney in an earlier episode already suggested that; the "momala" comment cemented the impression.
