I'm not sure about the CIA, although I certainly wouldn't put it past them. I tried looking up the American Sunlight Project on the Discover the Networks site (a great tool for following the money), but so far they don't have any data on them. I'd bet that they're getting their funding from some of the usual Left suspects, but their real ambition is to act as a contractor to DHS, State, and the Big Tech platforms.
