Instagram Begins Blurring Nudity In Messages To Protect Teens

Instagram said it’s deploying new new tools to protect young people and combat sexual extortion, including a feature that will automatically blur nudity in direct messages.

The social media platform said in a blog post Thursday that it’s testing out the features as part of its campaign to fight sexual scams and other forms of “image abuse,” and to make it tougher for criminals to contact teens.

One has to wonder whether they'll have to rely on AI to find it. It would take thousands of workers to keep up with the traffic. 

Instagram has had a tough time with porn on their platform. Most recently, they had to crack down on bogus breastfeeding videos from adult performers who used dolls, thanks to earlier decisions that allowed a proliferation of borderline imagery under the claim to be educational about breastfeeding and inculturation.
