Deeeeep Democracy Thoughts With Kamala Harris

Vice President Kamala Harris, who has developed a reputation for providing extended, often rambling “word salad” explanations about various issues and topics, appeared to engage in yet another one during an interview on the “I’ve Had It” podcast.

Harris was engaging with co-hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie “Pumps” Sullivan on the “nature of democracy” when she appeared to stream off in another direction.

I have rarely encountered someone who speaks so much to say so little. I did find it amusing that Harris claims that a democracy protects individual rights and freedoms, which it doesn't do. A constitutional republic does that by constraining the authority of government from intruding on those even when majorities of voters favor it -- which is the danger of pure democracy.

But otherwise, this says almost nothing at all. This is a puff pastry of thought, not meat and potatoes.
