YGBFKM, McAfee

Now, it may well be true that the Georgia case against Trump was not commenced for the sole purpose of making Willis and her lover rich. But that is hardly not the proper standard on which McAfee should have based his decision.

The evidence shows that both parties were enriched during their investigation. That is a clear conflict of interest and far more than a mere 'appearance'.

In fact, the real question is not if Willis should be barred from continuing her prosecution, but whether she should be investigated, indicted and convicted.

If DA Fani Willis were prosecuting citizen Fani Willis, she would surely have an extremely strong case.

Among the potential charges: perjury, conspiracy and obstruction of justice.

I'll go Dersh one step further: the explanations Willis offered about cash stashing and undocumented reimbursements sound custom made for a RICO predicate -- more so than the indictment she filed against Trump et al. This is a lengthy essay by Dersh that should be read in full, one which makes clear my earlier point that the issue was not a lack of evidence of misconduct by Willis but a lack of guts to do anything about it.

Let's see what an appellate court does with this, because they'll get it soon enough. But for now, I think the case against Trump will stall for a very long time while Willis finds someone to actually take it after this circus. And even if she finds someone willing to do so, that person will need to catch up to more than two years' worth of work done by Nathan Wade before proceeding with it.
