I've heard plenty of theories about this. The explanation from Chris Moody and Jamie Weinstein sounds credible -- a little bit about policy and a little bit personal. I'm not sure if that fully explains the leftward turn of the Drudge Report even apart from Trump, although a disillusionment on the scale they discuss could account for it. Bear in mind that Ann Coulter became a vociferous Trump critic but didn't tilt to the Left in doing so.
