Adam Schiff Could Lose to a Baseball Player

‘Trump-Russia collusion’ truther Rep. Adam Schiff has a dogfight on his hands in his bid for a U.S. Senate seat in California long held by the late Dianne Feinstein.

Republican candidate and Major League Baseball great Steve Garvey, who played first base for the L.A. Dodgers and San Diego Padres in the 1970s and 80s, is out-polling Schiff by 2 points, 27-25 percent, according to a new poll from the University of California Berkeley Institute of Government Studies.

Rep. Katie Porter trails Schiff with 19 points, while Rep. Barbara Lee is a distant fourth with 8 percent.

If the polling holds, that will mean Schiff and Garvey will head to a November election, where Garvey will likely be the underdog, given California’s heavy left-wing slant.
