Elon Musk announced on Wednesday the official relocation of SpaceX’s incorporation from Delaware to Texas, where his electric vehicle company Tesla is headquartered.

Musk made the announcement concurrently with urging other businesses to depart from Delaware. The decision follows a ruling by a Delaware judge in favor of a Tesla shareholder complaint regarding Musk’s compensation package, which was deemed unfair.

“SpaceX has moved its state of incorporation from Delaware to Texas! If your company is still incorporated in Delaware, I recommend moving to another state as soon as possible,” Musk stated.

Additionally, Musk has proposed relocating Tesla’s incorporation to Texas, pending a shareholder vote. The electric vehicle manufacturer transferred its headquarters from California to Austin, Texas, in 2021.
