New: Judge Delays Trump J6 Trial Start

The federal case against former President Donald Trump in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot will have to wait, the case judge announced Friday.

DC US District Judge Tanya Chutkan vacated the planned March 4 start date in a brief order, acknowledging that not enough progress had been made in pre-trial arrangements.

[This is in part because of the challenge Trump has made on the basis of presidential immunity. It might take several months to work through that issue. Meanwhile, the Bragg indictment on the hush-money payments — a ridiculous case — will start next month. — Ed]
