[Yeeeeaaaaahhhhh … I don’t see this happening. As one commenter noted, it’s great in theory until one of the cars takes off with a child in the back seat. Or as another suggested, a car drives off and strands its owner in the middle of nowhere without any way to survive. People should pay their bills and lenders have the right to repossess when they don’t, but this sounds like a very bad idea. The “unpleasant sounds” and feature reduction when behind on payments might be a better approach, but it will incentivize consumers to buy and lease cheaper vehicles without that kind of connectivity. — Ed]
