Swain: 'A White Male Would Probably Already be Gone'

Swain: The board of trustees needs to deal with those issues. They need to apply the same standards to her as they would apply to a white person under the same circumstances.

Rufo: And under these circumstances, what do you think would happen to a white person?

Swain: A white male would probably already be gone.

[Swain isn’t buying Harvard’s conclusion that these were minor failures in attribution, and why would she? Claudine Gay lifted entire passages of Swain’s work and passed them off as her own original work, as well as work of others. And now we know that Gay’s plagiarism extended to her other scholarly work as well. These are clear violations of Harvard’s policies and considered plagiarism by their own rules, as well as the rules in most of Academia. Whatever double standard may or may not exist, it’s clear that Harvard is too corrupted to apply their own explicitly stated rules. Future employers, beware. — Ed]
