A new photo purports to show hundreds of Hamas terrorists who surrendered to the Israeli army in Northern Gaza, near where they blew up a UNRWA school that had tunnels and other terrorist infrastructure leading to a nearby mosque.
This is the photo which I tracked as far back as I could to this account. War Watch claims that the Israeli army published this photo and it is “a picture of the arrest of hundreds of young men from UNRWA schools in the Al-Falujjah area and the Beit Lahia project in the northern Gaza Strip.”
[The mass surrenders are a good sign that the IDF has broken the morale of rank-and-file Hamas operatives, but one minor caveat. The IDF is being forced to detain any combat-age Gazans to make a determination which are terrorists and which are not, which was one of the objections to publishing photos where identities could be seen. However, given the IDF’s warnings for weeks to civilians of the necessity of fleeing to the south, it’s a pretty good assumption that most of these men were combatants. RS also has video of the IDF destroying a school that Hamas used as an HQ and tunnel-entry point. — Ed]
