Brown University president Christina Paxson was exposed for deliberately cutting the words ‘Star of David’ and ‘yarmulke’ from a speech at a vigil on campus Monday night.
Paxson spoke at a ceremony honoring a Palestinian student wounded in a shooting in Vermont before getting interrupted by rowdy students heckling and calling for the university to participate in the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement.
The prepared speech released on Brown’s website notes the president was to say: ‘Every student, faculty and staff member should be able to proudly wear a Star of David or don a keffiyeh on the Brown campus, or to cover their head with a hijab or yarmulke.’
However, when Paxson spoke at the vigil, she left out the two Jewish-related words – changing the line to ‘every student, faculty and staff member should be able to proudly don a keffiyeh on the Brown campus, or to cover their head with a hijab.’
[All this proves is that the tradition of Jew-hatred in Academia never really went away. It just became more fashionable to overtly express it of late. — Ed]
