I did not see this coming.
Actually, I didn’t see this coming. Because I haven’t thought about Charles Koch since 2015.
But yeah, he’s backing Indian Tracey Flick. Because he can’t stand the idea of someone campaigning to roll back the left’s culture war gains or seal the border, which he wants wide, wide open. The only priorities that Republicans are allowed to fight for are tax breaks for billionaires and unlimited political power for billionaires and the aggressively weird form of nihilistic transgender libertarianism libertinism that weird billionaires tend to support.
[I don’t think the Kochs move the needle on the Right much these days. AFP also endorsed Haley, which I think has more reach, but it’s not even close to dispositive. In fact, endorsements like these matter much less than local/regional endorsements such as those from governors like Kim Reynolds in Iowa and Greg Abbott in Texas, who endorsed DeSantis and Trump, respectively. — Ed]
