Let’s be perfectly clear about this. It’s possible that the media lied through their teeth to push a political agenda that corrupt politicians like Tim Walz and Jacob Frey utilized in their re-election campaigns and that Derek Chauvin committed a heinous crime. While that’s possible, it’s difficult to buy the notion that then-Minneapolis PC Arradondo told the truth on the witness stand after watching his officers’ interviews with Ms. Collin.

A fair trial would’ve included, at a minimum, a vigorous investigation into former Police Chief Arradondo for potentially perjuring himself on the stand. If Minneapolis’ leaders wanted a fair trial, why did they settle Benjamin Crump’s lawsuit against Minneapolis the day before they started picking jurors? Did they do that to signal that Chauvin was guilty? That’s certainly been speculated. That’s something that I can’t dismiss as a conspiracy theory.
