“Several federal agencies under the Biden administration seem to be targeting Grand Canyon University in retaliation for the school’s lawsuit against the Department of Education,” reports The College Fix.

“On Oct. 31, the Department of Education levied a fine of $37.7 million against GCU, accusing the university of ‘substantial misrepresentations’ about the costs to complete its doctoral programs.” Never mind that GCU has been far more transparent about the costs of its programs than secular universities like Columbia University, which charge many times more for overpriced graduate programs that don’t lead to good-paying jobs, and are deliberately designed to force taxpayers to pick up most of the tab for their students.

The Education Department has fined colleges far less money for vastly more egregious conduct, such as when Eastern Michigan University concealed murders on campus in violation of the Clery Act. It was fined only $357,000, less than one percent as much as Grand Canyon University has been fined based on flimsy allegations of far milder conduct.
