President Joe Biden is planning to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in California later this month, the White House said Tuesday.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made the announcement during a Tuesday press briefing. She said the president would meet with the Chinese leader on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in San Francisco, which is set to take place in mid-November.

“The president said he’s looking forward to meeting with President Xi and so [I’m] not going to get into details about this meeting that’s going to happen […] next month,” Jean-Pierre said. “It’s going to be in San Francisco, it’s going to be a constructive meeting, the president’s looking forward to it.”
