70% of New Jersey Voters to Gold Bar Bob: Get Out

[Senator Robert Menendez] has thus far resisted calls to resign, though polling data shows him to be at odds with his constituents on the matter. A recent survey from Farleigh Dickinson University indicated that 70% of residents want him out of the Senate.

That figure includes 80% of Republicans, 67% of independents, and 71% of Democrats. …

Just 16% of New Jerseyans say Menendez should serve out the remainder of his term, which ends in January 2025.

[That is one ugly poll result. On the plus side for Democrats, the FDU data shows no erosion of standing from Menendez’ scandal, likely because Democrats reacted quickly to distance themselves from him. One other reason is that NJ voters are pretty cynical — or realistic — about their politicians; only 9% believe they’re not at all corrupt, and 59% think they are somewhat or very corrupt. — Ed]
